GETTING TO KNOW BETTY

Betty began her journey in health research and testing in 1973.  At that time she felt she had to find a way to help more people help themselves.  This is when she started working with and testing herbs.  In 1979 she met Dr. Sir Leo Schafer of Schafer's Health Centre Limited in Unity, Saskatchewan and Christina Richa Devi, the first President of the Ontario Herbalist's Association.  These two people persuaded her to study herbology.  So in 1980 she started her courses and four years later received her Masters of Herbology.  Because she got 100% in all of her exams, the Association gave her a Fellowship in Botanical Medicine at the same time.

In 1985 she received a Certificate of Proficiency in Anatomy and Physiology because she felt that s
he had to have a fair knowledge of the body parts and organ functions in order to choose the herbs that would work with people's bodies to improve their health.  "Give the body the right herbs and fresh clean water and it will heal itself."

In 1991 Betty received Professional Status from the Ontario Herbalist Society and was honoured by being made the first OHA Herbal Elder.

Betty's focus has always been to help as many people as she possibly could.  She continues to be most generous and willing to share her extensive knowledge of wholistic health.  Throughout her life, she has gathered many Old and New, Tried and True Remedies that use ingredients found in the average kitchen.  This website will primarily be about these remedies as well as advice on how to neutralize the effects of our overly processed, sprayed food supply.
